Boy struck by vehicle in Vineyard is recovering well, authorities say

A young boy who was struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter Tuesday in Vineyard is recovering well and expected to return home from the hospital on Thursday or Friday, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
The boy, whose age was not specified, was crossing Center Street just before 8 p.m. when he was struck, the Utah County Sheriff’s Office said. He was taken by ambulance to Primary Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said its investigations team was called to the scene to assist with the investigation, and that the driver of the vehicle was cooperating. The initial phase of the investigation indicated that impairment was not a factor, authorities said. The case remains under investigation.
